CCSGA EXEC. MINUTES

September 21, 2012

 

·         Welcome

·         Officer Reports

-Alysha: Talking is an issue (taking turns and staying on topic in Senate Meetings) will address. Have an open floor at the end of the meeting to lessen disruptions. Changed communication activity to “writing instructions on how to make a sandwich”. Dean Budden’s going to do the powerpoint on Robert’s Rules. Explanation of liaison to Faculty/Staff and Students.

 

-Caroline: 9/13 – cabinet participation was good. Athletes wants more participation at games (free for students). Students want more new traditions on campus. CCAB decided that maybe next year they would make Sr. and 1^st year class to make a float together. Also to have a pageant. Having concerns that pageant could get too competitive. Do a survey or open forum to address this new addition to the college. Also, cabinet wanted to see how they could revive and change the Honors and Awards program – to

be “less formal” (should want to do an open forum or survey as well).

-9/25 Allocations Committee 12:30-1:20pm BLC 101

-10/2 Senate Meeting

-10/3 Senate Trip to USC 4:30 pm

-SLF 9/24 @ 1pm (Alex attending)

·         “We Choose Honor” Campaign Ideas

-Costs  of plaques and gifts (picture, add a chapel service). Maybe have the picture inserted in the plaque? Gift Card $25 for both students Spring and Fall.

-Alysha emails professors when there is a plan set in motion

-Coming soon with new profiles and different links to various things

-Negotiate with Rev. Roy when details have been worked through.

-At large members needed for Freshmen and Jr. placements in Cabinet – Nominees are Kashawn Craft (Freshmen) and Briana Newton (Jr.)
