CCSGA EXEC. MINUTES

September 28, 2012

·         Welcome

·         Officer Reports

-Alysha: Thought the Senate Retreat went well and people were well engaged. Spoke about extending time for next year. Negatives: Some were allergic to chocolate and peanut butter.

-Kara: Allocations went very well. Do the emergency review after Senate meeting 10/2/12

·         Review of Calendar

-10/2 Senate Meeting @ 12:30pm

-10/3 Senate Trip to USC @ 4:30pm (8 people have signed up)

-10/9 Elections, PR, & Activities Committees @ 12:30pm

-10/13 Ludy Bowl and Game Show (@ 5:30pm after Ludy Bowl) – Alex and Alysha attending

·         “We Choose Honor” Campaign Ideas

-Gift Ideas: plaque, gift card ($25), and picture frame (voted – Yes)

-Letter to Professors: focus more on description of Honor (needs to be tweaked)

-Name will stay “We Choose Honor” Student

-Inform Senate

-Will be in the Fall and Spring, but both won’t be recognized until the Honors and Awards Ceremony in the Spring

·         Class Meetings

-Need a letter in writing for Rev. Roy and invite him to the next meeting (Caroline will write letter)

-Trying to get the class meeting on Nov. 12^th to be moved to the 14^th. In the Spring semester April 8^th to the 10^th.

·         New Tradition

-Ludy Bowl Pageant, get feedback by holding an open forum at the Oct. 16^th Senate meeting

·         Advisor’s Report:

-email Liaisons about Monday’s at 1 (no classes are supposed to be scheduled, but ask what’s the conflict)

-Promote times for Senate meetings next year.

-Dining Comm.: “Call Line” for menus – should we keep? Vote on it in Senate. Keep Sunday’s meal the same or change it from Wednesday’s menu?

-Attendance: probation period? Sign something that agrees with the attendance policy? Start taking attendance after Senate Retreat (when Freshmen are available)?

-Committees need to email Alexandria Miller with attendance
